Departures from Discord
Where communities are moving, and the plain facts about each: who can see the code, who can host it, what it encrypts, what it does, and where your members can run it.

I build Probed, one of the destinations here. It is on the board with the same facts as the rest, including the ones that count against it. If anything here is wrong, say so on r/LeavingDiscord and it gets fixed.
Reading the board
Start from the thing that would sink the move. A server of iPhone users needs an iPhone app. A server that lives in voice needs voice channels. A server that has been burned before wants open source and self-hosting, so it can never be locked out again. Open any destination for the full list of what it does and doesn't do, with sources.
Then ask people who already made the trip. r/LeavingDiscord is where migration stories, and corrections to this board, go.
Questions
Which Discord alternative should I pick in 2026?
Start from what would sink the move. If half your members are on iPhone, rule out anything without an iPhone app. If the server lives in voice, rule out anything without voice channels. If you want to own your data, look at the open-source and self-hostable columns. What's left is your shortlist.
Why no scores or ranking?
Because a single number hides the one thing that decides it for your server. The table shows the facts and lets you weigh them. Apps are listed alphabetically.
Who runs this site?
Jorge Gonzalez, who builds Probed. Probed is listed with the same facts as the others, including the ones that count against it.
My app is missing, or a fact is wrong.
Post it on r/LeavingDiscord with a link that shows it. New and small apps are welcome.
